Sandburg Softball Drops Pair of Games at NW Florida St.

The Carl Sandburg College softball team continued its spring break trip with a pair of losses Monday at Division I Northwest Florida State. The Chargers (1-3) dropped the opener 9-0 and Game 2 11-2.

The Chargers were victims of a perfect game by Raiders pitcher Lauren Rase, who struck out four batters and threw 38 of 53 pitches for strikes.

Key Moment
Tied 1-1 in the third, Northwest Florida State went ahead for good with a four-run frame behind a sacrifice fly, a run-scoring wild pitch and a two-run double.

Sandburg Standout
Emma Wolfe (Dunlap, Ill./Dunlap) went 2 for 2, including an RBI triple in the second that tied the game at 1.
